Rappanhannock Group Sierra Club hike and history of George Washington\'s Birthplace
Join us for a Sierra Club nature hike and tour of George Washington\'s Birthplace in Westmoreland County, VA. We will enjoy a leisurely walk through the park and learn about the history of this important landmark. Total hiking distance is one and one-half miles along park trails. Approximate time is one and one-half hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes and appropriate outerwear for the weather. We will meet in the parking lot at 1732 Popes Creek Road, Colonial Beach, VA at 10:00 am, Saturday, 18 September. This event is open to the public and there is no cost. All participants must register with the Outing Leader (Geoff Johnson, geoffwithrgsc@gmail.com), and sign a standard waiver form at the trailhead on the day of the hike. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. No pets are allowed. \

After the tour, those that are interested will meet at the local Ingleside Winery, 5872 Leedstown Road, Oak Grove Va for lunch or snacks. Bring your own food or take advantage of the on-site food truck. \
