Come learn about how Dumbarton House and its surrounding landscape have changed over the past two-hundred years since its construction in 1799. Explore the site and imagine what it might have looked like with 8.5 acres of open land, multiple outbuildings, and a view down to the Potomac River. Learn how to read the facade for special Federal period architectural details and learn how these were lovingly preserved and restored over the last hundred years. This tour will last approximately 45 minutes and take place entirely outdoors. We recommend bringing water and sun/rain protection. This ticket includes admission to the museum! Please keep in mind that the museum closes at 3pm with the last entry at 2:45pm. You are welcome to explore the museum before the tour. Please note: In accordance with CDC guidelines, visitors who are fully vaccinated may remove their face masks in outdoor spaces while using appropriate social distancing. We continue to encourage visitors to wear a mask at all times. While many visitors are still unvaccinated, we ask all our guests to do their part in keeping everyone at Dumbarton House safe.
