Student Make Em Laugh: Sketch Comedy Writing\ September 13-October 6 (Mon/Wed) (6-7:15 pm)\ Hybrid: Zoom/ARTfactory, 9419 Battle St, Manassas VA 20110\ \ Make ‘Em Laugh: Sketch Comedy Writing will teach you about different sketch formats and give you the opportunity to write, collaborate and perform your own material with their classmates! The focus in this course is on developing each person’s individual voice and comedic sensibility, as well as mastering the tools you need to begin writing sketch comedy. At the end of the four weeks, students will get stage time to perform their material in front of a live audience. No prior sketch writing experience is necessary- the only requirement for this class is a desire to write, perform and and develop creativity. Students should be prepared to work outside of class, writing/ rewriting sketches and rehearsing lines for performance.
