“Wings” an art exhibit by Sandra McClelland Lewin at the Arches Gallery, Workhouse Arts Center\ \ Lorton, Virginia – October 4, 2021/- Award-winning artist Sandra Lynn McClelland Lewin announced today that her colorful series “Wings” will be the Featured Artist Show at the Arches Gallery of the Workhouse Arts Center, Lorton, Virginia during the month of October. Sandra Lewin is a representational artist who is known for her dynamic and multihued nature paintings. Regarding this exhibit, Sandra stated “When I was a child I was enthralled by the variety and beauty of the bird paintings by John J. Audubon. On nature walks with my mother, I learned to notice the unique features of the local birds and insects such as the shimmering opalescent wings of a butterfly or the transparency of the wings of a honeybee. I find myself inspired to capture the beautiful colors of their magnificent plumage and iridescent wings on canvas so that I can enjoy them anytime.”\ \ About Artist Sandra McClelland Lewin:\ \ Sandra lives in Dumfries and creates her art in her home studio. She began painting after her retirement in 2009 as a graphics designer for the Central Intelligence Agency. Her work has been exhibited and won awards in several juried shows throughout the Northern Virginia area and in online juried shows. She established an artist’s group in the Four Seasons Over 55 community in 2014 and was been President of the group for five years. She is currently President of the Prince William Art Society and is a member of the Prince William Arts Council.
