Back to the National Archives: Unlocking its Secrets\ \ Virtual Event, sponsored by the Fairfax Genealogical Society \ October 9, 2021, 9:15 am EDT-1:30 pm EDT\ \ The National Archives in Washington DC is an essential research site for genealogists. After being closed for months during the pandemic, the Archives is opening on a limited basis, by appointment only. Take this opportunity via Zoom to learn from an expert about keys to researching military records, land records, and the NARA’s online resources, and be better prepared when you next visit the National Archives, either online or in person.\ \ The presenter Rebecca Whitman Koford, Certified Genealogist®, Certified Genealogical Lecturer, is the Executive Director of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, and Director of the Genealogical Institute on Federal Records (Gen-Fed) held annually at the National Archives in Washington DC. Koford also is the Course Coordinator for the Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research (IGHR) and and has been an instructor at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG.)\
