Want to feel safer while biking in northern Virginia? Found a new love for cycling during the pandemic, and interested in developing your confidence and competence as a rider? Wondering about how to start commuting by bike? This Smart Cycling class is for you! You\'ll learn how to safely and comfortably ride your bike in various traffic conditions, terrain, and climates. You will also learn about the basic parts of a bike and essential equipment for riding.\ \ This FREE class, which is funded by a Northern Virginia Regional Commission/VA DMV grant, consists of (1) four hours of online instruction, which you can do at any time before Friday, September 24; (2) and four hours of on-bike instruction on Friday, September 24 from 2-6 p.m. The on-bike portion will cover skills to help keep you safe while riding, and will also include a short group ride.
